1、爱情是伟大的，它可以透析一切，发掘出爱人心中最珍贵的东西，并使之放射出异样灿烂的光彩。它也可以改变一切，使懦弱的人变得勇敢，自私的人变得慷慨。爱，会唤出人心中最真的部分。

2、Roy Croft是个很有争议的“人物”，任何文献里面没有关于他的生平的任何介绍，甚至是生卒年代，也没有照片。至于说他是爱尔兰人，也只是一个传说，也有人认为他是美国人。

3、而其生活年代被估计为1905年1980年间。 Roy在1979年自费出版了一本28页的诗集，其中最有名的诗就是《爱》。这首诗经常在婚礼上出现，也总有人引用。对于他成谜的身世，有一种说法是Roy本人根本不存在，而是有人用来发表翻译的诗作的一个途径。

4、而《爱》这首诗本身翻译自奥地利诗人Erich Fried的德语诗《我爱你》（Ich Liebe Dich）。 他的诗集现在已找不到了，甚至连名字都没有留下。出版诗集的公司名叫Blue Mountain Arts, Inc.（蓝山艺术公司）至今还在，在美国科罗拉多州，主要业务就是给那些自己愿意掏钱的人出书。

5、几十年来出版了很多书籍，但是这些书籍质量参差不齐，印数也因作者的经济实力而不同。最早是在上世纪九十年代的时候有人试图去找这本诗集的，但由于年代久远，公司已经找不到任何一本藏书和记录了。
