下岗工人高海洋在短短不到三年的时间里赚了二百多万元人民币，安置了几个房产后，又买了小汽车，一家过上了幸福安康的生活。因为“金钱的力量”让优秀的儿子成绩下降。高海洋为儿子的不成器而深感困扰。经过一番深思熟虑和朋友的提议，终于，高海洋决定隐瞒财产，过艰苦打工的生活，取出一点钱维持生活。为了做的更逼真，他由装修公司的老板变成了一个业务员，妻子每天去批发蔬菜来卖。一次父亲和几个搬运工人一起从车上卸板材，因为他体力不支，倒了下去，刨花板重重地压在了身上，儿子放学后帮母亲卖菜，让儿子知道了挣钱的不易。儿子也不负重望，被确定为武汉大学的保送生，儿子为了证明自己的实力，放弃去武汉大学，再次参加考试，结果以优异的成绩进入大学。
通过这个故事，我体会到了世界上的有很多种，都会体现在每件事情上，父亲能为儿子付出一切，所以父爱是伟大的。
