记得去年夏天的一个晚上，爸爸妈妈去看电影，我和姐姐留在家里学习。我刚打开课本，忽然看见桌子玻璃板下新压着一张图片——“鹿，我最喜欢的鹿，画下来！”我一边想，一边打开画纸，拿起画笔三下五除二就勾出一只小鹿，由于太急，把鹿头画成小山羊头的样子了。擦了重画！可是又把鹿头画歪了，我只好将计就计，在旁边画了一只鸭子戏水，小鹿回头看着鸭子。画好一看，还不错。爸妈还没回来， *** 脆画个痛快吧，画什么呢？想了想，我先画了一望无垠的稻田和碧蓝的天空，然后又画了一个活动稻草人，他右手拿一张弓，左手把一只箭搭在弓上，站在稻田里，像一个士兵一样在守护稻田……

正当我美滋滋地欣赏这两幅画时，“哐当”一声门开了。我紧忙把画往抽屉里塞，可是来不及了，爸爸已经来到了我眼前，姐姐也站了起来。我不情愿地把画递给他们。姐姐看了后夸我画得好，还带着求情的目光看着爸爸。可爸爸呢，只是仔细端详这两幅画，脸绷得紧紧的，又拿着画坐到沙发上继续看。我心里嘣嘣直跳，我想：一顿责骂又少不了啦！又过了一会儿，爸爸果然开口了。但是出乎意料，他没有责备我，反而对妈妈说：“看，这小子画的还可以。”我一怔，爸爸又回过头对我说：“你是真爱好画画吗？爱好、爱好，一要真‘爱’，二要真‘好’。一个好画家，不但画得好，知识也渊博得很哪！”他拍了我肩头一下，接着说：“好好画吧，但千万不要影响学习！”我兴奋得一个劲地点头，什么也说不出来了。

后来，我又画了许许多多的画，如《火上浇油》、《飞翔》……画画使我觉得世界上有那么多美好的事物，使我学会更加仔细地观察生活，以前作文总觉得无话可说，现在打开作文本，就像打开画纸一样，绚丽多彩的今天，光辉灿烂的明天，我都要把它们画出来、写出来。尽管画画使我比别的同学忙一些，但忙中有乐啊！

Mary is kind and warm-hearted. When somebody in ClASS falls ill,she goes to attend to him or her. When John has troubles in his studies, Mary always helps him with his lessons. Sometimes, I make fun of her by saying, “You'd better play football as a doorkeeper.” She just tolerantly laughed. It is something that I admire her because she is never in the mood of self-humiliation forher fatness.

An old saying goes that “being lovely makes a person pretty”. I think that it is true of Mary since she is the case in point.
