清晨寅时，家里的大公鸡还未扯开嗓子长鸣，我被摩托车开响的声音惊醒，我穿好衣服，他已不在房间里。他吃过早饭了吗？昨夜他是什么时候回来的？这些问题一个接一个的在我的脑海里浮现。
爸妈外出打工去了，我和妹妹被寄在爷爷奶奶家里，家里的经济来源主要靠爷爷，他用双手撑起了我们一家，眼看着他每天拖着疲惫的身子回家，第二天又精神抖擞的外出，我心里不知是什么滋味。去年，姑姑怀孕，回了老家，姑父在外忙工作，每次回家待到的日子不到三天。现在，姑姑的孩子已有五个月大了，因为姑姑是一胎，没有经验，她只喂喂奶，其他的事都由奶奶去做。家里的鸡鸭猪狗都靠奶奶经管，因此，奶奶也是忙里忙外。
爷爷是个包工，每天都会应对各种工程问题。他从来起的比鸡早，睡得比狗晚，辛勤劳作的他使我们家走向小康之路，比起邻家，我们家算得上比较富裕的了。爷爷比较年轻，有干劲，他只要一天没事做，就会觉得一天都毛躁躁的。现在，不到60岁的他，虽患的一身的病，但每天都会在工地辛劳，他已经用坏了五六部手机了。为了身体，家里人都劝他别搞垮了身体，他说：“只有动起来，我才能活的更长久。”下雨天，工地去不了，他就会撑起一把伞到菜地里转转，拔拔野草，锄锄地什么的。许多亲戚家都说他很固执，但我想，他也许正是因为固执才年轻的吧。
